Cockenskell Farm is about 30 minutes from Junction
36 on the M6.
Leave the M6 at junction 36 and take the A590 to
Barrow/Greenodd (do NOT take the signpost
to the Lakes!)
At Greenodd turn right (A5092) for the Coniston
Road.
After about 2-3 miles you come to the hamlet of
Blawith, go down the hill past a large white
Victorian house on your left and just afterwards on your right
there is a church with a telephone
box outside (sadly no longer red!). Directly opposite is a narrow
lane, turn LEFT up the lane, past
the farm (slowly!) and up onto the fell. After the cattle grid
take the RIGHT turning over the fell
and up the hill for about half a mile until you reach a fork,
take the RIGHT fork and you will see
the gates, past the cottage, up the drive and you have reached
Cockenskell Farm.
